This photograph below, of Tric powering forwards in one of his Agility Games shows the lighter and more lithe build of the 'working' lines to perfection.  You can also note the shorter coat they tend to have, rather than the more luxurious flowing coat of the 'show' lines.

This is Guirmere Tric, who is now just over one year old.  He comes from Guirmere Kennels in NSW, who specialise in Working Border Collies of all colours.

Tric is a traditional black & white Border, and has been chosen specifically to do Agility.

He has been doing Agility Foundation Games since he arrived home at 8 weeks of age.  These Games have been focusing on his working drive, connection with his handler, shadow handling and many other skills.

Tric does not yet have his height card, but is expected to begin competing in Agility in 2014.

Racing around and between jumps during training, Tric learns to watch his handler's body language for cues as to where he needs to move to next.  All at the fastest possible speed, of course!!

With jumps on the lowest  height, this young pup is learning to pace himself, to wait for the command to 'break' before moving forward, and to judge takeoff speed and position for a successful jump.

Timing and pacing between jumps are skills that only experience and practise can teach.  Because of soft bones & joints, young dogs are introduced to this slowly, and only as they are a little more mature.
