Biography: Spike is a lovely big soft & sooky boy.  He is 3/4 Border Collie, 1/4 Kelpie.  Initially he was 'free to good home' from a local Vet; due to his unusual colouring he was not as popular as his litter-mates.  He is now 8 years old, and loves doing anything that his handler Renee asks him to.  He gets loves Agility and it is very common to hear his big  'Woof'!  as he runs his courses, telling Renee to hurry up and catch up to him.

Spike also does Dancing with Dogs, Obedience, and Rally Obedience.

At Bairnsdale, March 2014 they gained their SPDM Title; Masters Strategic Pairs Dog.

TOP DOG 2013

The photo below was taken in September 2013.  It is the first obstacle in the prestigious Top Dog competition run every year in Victoria.  The top ten Agility Dogs for the year compete together to see who wins.

Spike won this Competition in 2012, making him Top Agility Dog in Victoria for that year.  And he still has the silver plate, monogrammed coat and lead to prove it!

Above Left:  Spike pauses with all four feet touching the colour on the see-saw.  To pass the course, all 'colours' on contact equipment must be tuched by the dog.

Above: Spike clears the 500 height single bar jump.  He skims the bar rather than jumping high.  This way his energy is used for forward speed rather than height. The only downside to this is the risk of knocking a bar, which incurs a 5-point course penalty.
