This is Solan; he is, of course, a Border Collie.  He is bred, owned, trained and handled locally.  While a quiet and affectionate dog, Solan tends to become incredibly enthusiastic whenever Agility is on the menu.  He races at top speed, often forgetting to look where he is going, or even listen to his handler at times, as he is so intent on doing almost every obstacle he can lay his paws on as fast as humanly (or doggily) possible!

He trains and competes in Herding, Treibball (herding large rubber balls) Obedience, Rally Obedience and Dancing with Dogs as well.

Solan recently competed in Strategic Pairs in Bairnsdale, and gained a pass with his little friend Hector.

He also took part in the recent Border Collie Nationals Australia, and did very well there, as well!

Above: Playing with a birthday present, which instantly became a new favourite.

Above Right: coming down the AFrame.  Solan has a habit of letting his enthusiasm get the better of him, and doesn't always stop at the bottom as he is supposed to!

Right: running around at training instead of doing the obstacles.  Basically being a 'Hooligan' as his handler delights in calling him.

Below Left: coming over the Broad Jump in a Trial.  This obstacle requires the dog to jump long instead of high.  They must not touch any of the boards, and it takes practise to achieve correctly.

Below Right: threading himself through the Tyre!  Solan doesn't stop his speed, just takes off several feet before so as to go through without touching the sides.
